The Tobacco Road

. . .

Each year, since 1980, "the Tobacco Road in Aquitaine" is open to the public, from July to September.

This road is punctuated with visits and exhibitions which allow a better knowledge of this plant discovered in 1492, during the first expedition of Christopher Colombus, at the same time as many other cultivated or decorative plants.

Come to discover, inside a traditional curing shed, an exhibition recalling the history of these plants coming from the new world and find them in the botanical garden.

Season 2006: from July to September

Tobacco Institute of Bergerac
769, route de Sainte-Alvère

Free admission from Monday to Saturday, 2pm to 7pm

Visit for groups on preliminary request.
